Shalit: Never to return to army

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier seized by the Palestinian combatants in 2005 and to be freed upon prisoner swap deal between Hamas and the Zionist regime has admitted to his captors that he would never return to service in the Israeli army once released. Palestine Daily published in Gaza quoted sources privy to the resistance movements that Shalit had made the remarks when asked whether he as to willing to continue to serve in the army. He has said he would even advise his colleagues to refuse to serve in the areas close to the ‘hazardous’ Gaza border with ‘Israel.’He has admitted that the Palestinian resistance groups might be able enough to draw Israeli forces deep into Gaza and seize them any time they decide.Asked why he was not willing to keep service in the army, Shalit has admitted no soldier in the army enjoys security.The seized soldier has expressed delight at the swap deal and called it a victory for his friends and family.Shalit’s family formed a campaign following his detention and staged several sit-ins in front of the Israeli premier’s residence and other state centers, calling on the Zionist authorities to concede to Palestinian conditions for the release of the soldier./129
